"On June 22 the sun baked the grass at Meadow Park and the smell of sunscreen hung in the air. Kids were split into two age groups: 4 to 7 and 8 to 12. The younger group played in the Big Bear junior world cup and the 8 to 12–year olds played in the Big Bear world cup. The kids donned uniforms from countries around the world. Holland, Brazil, Ireland and the United States were represented. The soccer coaches wore face paint with colors from different flags."
