  3. How soon will it take to start a program with Coast 2 Coast once I confirm?

It takes us 4 weeks to properly recruit our coaches. We can do it in two weeks if you wish to be placed on a rush list.

  4. What is the price per session?

We have three prices depending on the amount of sessions that you do. Price is based off a per session basis. A session is one hour with one coach to 20 kids. 20-40 sessions is $125 per session; 41-100 sessions is $115 per session; >100 sessions is $95 per session.

  5. I want to involve all the children at each of my school sites. What sort of package do you offer?

Coast 2 Coast realizes that as part of Certified Assurance XX, you are supposed to provide an opportunity for Physical Activity to students. Therefore, Coast 2 Coast offers a unique price if you chose to involve all the children at your sites. We will run with a price of $125 per 1.5 hour-long session. You can then have groups of children do 45-minute sessions. 80 children could do four 45-minute sessions per week. 10 weeks of this program would cost you $2,500.

  6. How can I include Coast 2 Coast Soccer in my in my 21st Century or ASES Grant Renewal and/or First Time Application?

Our partners now include Coast 2 Coast Soccer in their program plan in the Program Content>Collaboration section. This is a short overview that you can copy and paste us into your Program Plan: "Coast 2 Coast Soccer is an after school soccer program that combines teaching soccer skills and techniques with tips on healthy eating. Coast 2 Coast partners with 200 school sites in CA. We selected Coast 2 Coast because children at our sites love soccer and soccer includes higher levels of moderate to vigorous physical activity compared to other sports. Coast 2 Coats has a curriculum that is aligned with Physical Education Model Content Standards for Public Schools has very strict recruitment criteria for its coaches. Coast 2 Coast Soccer is an excellent ambassador of the "Team California for Healthy Kids" campaign." You can also include our curriculum summary, Alignment with Standards document and Brochure as attachments.

  7. Why include Coast 2 Coast Soccer in my in my 21st Century or ASES Grant Renewal or Grant Application?

There is an obvious push for promoting physical activity and nutrition. On a State level, Superintendant Tom Torlikson is a Champion of Physical Activity and set up 'Team California for Healthy Kids". On a Federal level, Michelle Obama is daily pushing her "Let's Move" Campaign. Coast 2 Coast Soccer met with 100 School Sites, and several County and Regional Leads and spoke on the phone to the CDE. The outcomes were that Instructional Aides often do not know how to run organized physical activity sessions and find it difficult to implement purchased Physical Activity Curricula. It seems that collaborating with a partner that promotes Physical Activity makes sense.

  8. What does Coast 2 Coast provide for me for any upcoming on-site or on-line Federal Program Monitoring (FPM)?

A Curriculum Summary that includes a one pager on how we align with Physical Activity Standards and Session Plans for every session.

  9. How many weeks do you run for?

Coast 2 Coast typically run for 10 weeks. We can run for shorter or less depending on what suits you best.

  10. Do you have a minimum number of sessions?

Yes, we have a minimum of 20 sessions.

  11. How you do schedule the days per week?

Coast 2 Coast realizes that programs typically start with an hour of academic work. However, with daylight savings time, Coast 2 Coast sessions need to usually finish before 5pm. Coast 2 Coast typically schedules two days per week at each site if it is running two sessions per site. It definitely suits Coast 2 Coast better if we can run both sessions on the same day.

  12. How are you aligned with the Physical Education Model Content Standards for Public Schools?

Coast 2 Coast Soccer phoned the CDE and asked the Physical Education Consultant how to align our curriculum with the standards. The answer was to simply provide a one-page overview of how we align our curriculum?
